A new joint initiative by British Basketball, Basketball England, Basketball Wales and Basketball Scotland is aiming to transform the future of the game in Britain. Under the banner of the future of basketball, the four governing bodies are working together to engage with everyone involved in the sport to identify the best way forward for the sport in these islands. The purpose of the initiative is to “communicate the new ambitions and intentions for basketball across Britain” and “to engage anyone who is interested in the sport or wishing to support it”.
There reason for doing this is

- to fulfil Basketballs potential to contribute to local communities
- to strengthen the governance and resourcing of the sport
