Cheshire Wire defeat Brentwood Fire to reach the final four of the Under 16 Premier National Championship.

In a closely fought encounter at Priestley College, which was too close to call for most of the game, the Cheshire Wire Under 16 Premier team eventually managed to overcome their spirited opponents by 55 points to 51 in their Premier Playoff Quarter-final. In the early exchanges, it appeared that Wire’s slow start might have let their opponents get too far away from them as they struggled to keep pace with Brentwood but they managed to rally late in the first half and by half-time the teams were level at 30 – 30. The second half was equally as intense as the first but supported by the vocal home support and some solid defensive play, they were able to sneak away from the Fire to win the game and set up a semi-final match at the new RDC in Belle Vue, Manchester in three weeks time. Their oppoents will be either Newham Youngbloods Crusaders or Leeds Force Elite who play their quarter-final match on Sunday 10th April.

Good luck to the team for the semi-final.
